Late Bloomer

Have you ever been called a "Late Bloomer"?

Been chosen last for the team?

Stood on the outside looking in?

Not good enough, behind, too young, too old?

You just KNOW in your soul that there's something special hiding within you, but it's just.. stuck.

Maybe you've had dreams that lit a fire in your heart, but you couldn't fully understand.

Maybe you've been anointed for something special, but nothing is happening, or you are being attacked on every side.

Was there a mistake made? Did you hear wrong?

Maybe you have no special purpose after all?

A long time ago Noah was called to build a huge boat for his family and two of every kind of animal. The land was dry. They had not seen rain and it took around 100 years for him to build! (Good thing people lived super long then.)

He was laughed at, believed crazy.. but he persevered, following God's precise instructions.

One day the rain finally came. And then the flood- that covered the entire world!

God floated them securely over the water in that giant boat, giving them a brand new, clean world to begin again when the flood and the evil had gone.

A man named Abraham was promised a son, and children that would outnumber the stars in the sky. By the time God fulfilled that promise, Abraham and his wife were so old it didn't even make sense - to themselves! It was impossible!

Only God could cause a 90 year old woman and her 100 year old husband to conceive a child!

A miracle that they could not take credit for, during a time when no one at that age would normally even begin parenthood!

Another young man named Joseph had phenomenal dreams. His father favored him, but his brothers hated him so much they threw him in a pit and then sold him and told their father he was dead. He was made a slave and put in prison for something he didn't even do.

By the time Joseph was miraculously raised up to 2nd in command to Pharoah, 13 years had passed!

A little boy named David was picked to be the next King after Saul. But he spent all his growing up years running for his life from that King. By the time he was crowned, he was 30 years old!

Do you think Joseph or David might have been a bit arrogant had they been put into powerful positions as young teens?

What humility, wisdom, and deep trust in the Lord they must have learned while waiting for Him to fulfill HIS promises to them!

Today, we took our kids to the zoo. After an hour and a half two of them were tired of looking at the animals and wanted to go to the playground.

We managed to convince them to play Red Light Green Light along the path at the far end of the zoo.

All of a sudden, one of our kids yelled! A Fallow Deer was in the process of giving birth right against the fence!

Not only was it so cool to witness, but when the fawn was born, several other deer came to help care for it!

We watched and recorded the entire birth and then the girls excitedly ran to tell the zookeeper who drove around the corner.

She told us this was a complete surprise since all the other deer had their babies two months ago!

By the time we reached the exit 30 minutes later, the news had reached the staff in the building. It was miraculous that the doe had given birth so much later than all the others!

God's promises are fulfilled, or delivered in HIS time, HIS way.

There's a reason, or more than one, for why you've had to wait to bloom.

Don't quit before your calling is birthed. When it's time you will have no doubt.

You may have to work hard, but the Holy Spirit Fire will inspire you to persevere.

You will experience joy, rest in your soul, peace in your heart as you see the fruit of your labor...because you will realize you did not labor alone. It was HIS plan all along.

Get ready. All of a sudden it will be the right time. Here it comes!

...It (podcast episode with Fierce Freedom) was so interesting, insightful and inspiring.  It made me think about my own relationship with my kids and if I gave them enough affirmation..

I believe this book is absolutely necessary and beneficial for parents, and it should be in every family's household.  I fully plan to order more books for our support group as well as freely within our clinic for other therapists to utilize with their young clients.
